iPhone user intercepted calls to a number via wifi calling

I don't have an iPhone. But I'm guessing the previous owner of my current number is, and is able to intercept my calls via their wifi calling on their iPhone.

How can I identify unknown callers effectively? The number from one friend using an iPhone to call my landline shows two mobile numbers joined together . Theirs is the second ' part ' , the other number is unknown . I have actually called the first part of the number and someone answered ( I put the phone down immediately ) . The friend had no idea who's number it was when I showed the call log from my landline phone . Creepy or what ? I treated it with suspicion and have blocked the number - since exactly the same thing happened just a month ago . My own network provider had never heard of this happening . Friend recently moved from 02 to Lebara . The number showing was 22 digits long , beginning with 09573 . The zero in front of my friend's part of this number is always missing . iPhone calls mystery My cellular data is off, I’m using my home Xfinity Wi-Fi, I don’t have my iPhones Wi-Fi calling enabled…. SOOOOOO… how come I can make phone calls still? 2 hour call to Xfinity, and one bogus call to Apple support & on hold for 20 + minutes. Then, the lady who answered the call, only asked me my name and phone number & what my phone issue was, and the reason for my call. Is that non-formal phone etiquette standard for iPhone support???

Contact your carrier.

WiFi calling is an application which they provide.

Well, IMO that doesn’t seem a very “good” answer for the symptoms you’re reporting.

However, it’s all still up to your carrier to resolve any call delivery difficulties you are experiencing.

Well I appreciate the information however I already contacted my carrier and was informed that the only way to resolve my issue was to change my number.
