Software Update notifications on MacBook Pro can't be turned off (OS 15 Sequoia)

On a MacBook Pro running OS 15 Sequoia, the Software Update notifications can't be turned off. This issue needs to be addressed & no one at Apple seems to be addressing it yet. Even when automatic updates are turned off in System Settings/General, and all the notifications are turned off in System Settings/Notifications, the Software Update notification banner stays on screen until you click it. The notification reads:

Updates Available

New software is ready to be installed.

Try Tonight Install

To get rid of it, you have to click it. Then you're forced to deal with the System Settings window every time, instead of having the choice to turn the notification off.

PLEASE Apple, allow Mac users to turn this notification off!

You have forgotten the closing quotation mark in the command. Retry and check again with

defaults read com.apple.SoftwareUpdate

Oh absolutely I will, I'm just watching it today to see if it comes up at all, it has definitely stopped every half hour or every time I open the laptop…just wondering was it just a monday thing!! 😂

Yep this absolutely works, I tried it almost two weeks ago now when I was getting notifications every half hour or so and they haven't come back! Great job damat-le thank you!
