Apple carplay on my 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid Hatchback Sport?( Not Touring)

I connect wirelessly. I have a UK Civic which was manufactured in Japan. The salesman told me that if I use the built in Navigation app rather than Apple CarPlay Maps that the car uses gradient data to help decide when to switch to engine or electric on the route you're following. This is the reason I stick to Honda Navigation (Garmin?) and I have no idea if and how it really helps.

I don’t use CarPlay much. I use the Honda provided Navigation app rather than Apple Maps. I have found it useful to use Siri to send hands-free messages, “Siri send a message”, and so on. I have also used “Siri how far is it to place name” even though I’m not using Maps navigation.
