airpods disconnecting when skipping videos

I have the newest generation of AirPods (4?) regular not pro and every time I’m watching a YouTube video or any video that you can double tap to skip, my airpods disconnect for a second then comes back on in about 5 seconds. If I skip the video again it happens again and then it will make the video completely close out and I have to restart my browser or YouTube app. It’s really annoying and I’ve tried updating my phone/airpods, restarting my phone/airpods, and even deleting YouTube and reinstalling. Nothing is fixing this problem please help!
