iPhone 15 Pro carrier switch from Verizon to T-Mobile

I have an iPhone 15 Pro that I purchased from Verizon and I am in part of a family plan. I would like to leave Verizon and go to T-Mobile. How do I do this?

First, contact Verizon customer support and get all of the details on what it will take to drop their service, since it is possible that your current plan may not expire for some time.

When your current Verizon plan has expired, any iPhones that were using cellular service from Verizon will need to be unlocked by Verizon before you can contact T-Mobile to set up new service with them.

The bottom line....Apple is not involved in this process at all. You will be working with Verizon and T-Mobile

Just a suggestion for the next time you purchase an iPhone... buy it direct from Apple. That way the phone is not locked in to any carrier. Not only does it make it very easy to switch carriers, it also gives you negotiating power with carriers to get a better plan because they know you can easily leave. The last time I went in to Verizon to let them know I might be switching, they surprisingly found another unlimited 5G plan for my wife and I that saved us $20 per month on two phones.
