Can I recover accidentally deleted messages from iCloud on my iPhone?

I recently accidentally deleted a message thread, without realizing it. It was too late to retrieve and restore them from the recently deleted messages. Is there any way they are stored in iCloud, since I had iCloud turned on before the deletion? Can I download them back to my phone somehow? These messages span through the last year, about 21,000 messages.

The only recoverable items are in the Recently Deleted folder in messages. If you use messages in iCloud, the items are deleted when deleted on your device. If you do not use messages in iCloud, then messages are stored as part of your device backup. You can factory reset your device and restore using your most recent backup. You'll lose anything new since the backup was made but you might get back your messages if they were included in you backup.
