Unsyncing an older MacBook from a new M1 MacBook Air

I have a relatively new MacBook Air (3), chip M1 with Sonoma OS14.6.1 I have an older MacBook that I want to UNSYNCH completely from the new Mac. I want to use the old mac to run exercise youtube videos and other things from the internet, without it


My older Mac is OS Catalina, from early 2015.

Look for all of the controls for iCloud synchronization on your old Mac, and turn them off. E.g., if iCloud Photos is enabled on the old Mac, turn it off on the old Mac.

Do not delete any data on the old Mac while it is still synchronized to iCloud. E.g., if you delete photos and videos from the old Mac while it is synced with iCloud Photos, that will be taken as a request to delete them everywhere – including from iCloud and from your new Mac.
