I can't delete a specific person in the 'Find My' app

There is one person I'm trying to remove from my 'Find My' app. Swiping to delete them doesn't work, they just pop up again. They don't show a location, ever. I can add and delete others without an issue, it's just this one person. I suspect they no longer have a iPhone but has anyone found a way to do this please?

iPhone 14 Pro Max, iOS 18

To remove someone from the Find My app on an iPhone, you can do the following:

  1. Open the Find My app
  2. Tap People at the bottom of the screen
  3. Tap the name of the person you want to remove
  4. Tap Remove [name]
  5. Tap Remove again to confirm

If you're having trouble removing someone from the Find My app, you can try these steps:

  • Check your privacy settings
  • The person you're trying to remove might have restricted location sharing in their privacy settings
  • Check your device settings
  • If your device has Theft Protection enabled, you won't be able to turn off Find My iPhone
