iPhone 16 AOD Turns Off Despite Settings Changes

iPhone 16, iOS 18.2 Always On Display (AOD) should be called Sometimes On Display (SOD) it turns off No matter what change in settings I make.

Only the Pro & Pro Max models have AOD.

A Google search confirms what I thought, you need to be on a charger for AOD to work.


To use the "Always-On" display feature on an iPhone, which is now called "StandBy" mode in newer iOS versions, your iPhone needs to be connected to a charger; it only activates when the phone is charging and placed horizontally, essentially turning your phone into a bedside clock-like display while plugged in.
