Storing a Macbook unplugged for a long time

I'm going on a trip and will have to store my MacBook and Ipad at home for 5 months. It will be in a storage unit unplugged. Should I open them and remove the battery?

Mac and iPad devices do not have user-serviceable batteries and CANNOT be removed. Doing so is EXTREMELY DANGEROUS as you risk bending the battery and causing an explosion.

If you're planning to store your device unplugged for a long time, follow these tips to maintain its battery health and overall condition:

Charge the Battery: Charge the battery to around 50% before storing it. A fully charged or completely discharged battery can deteriorate faster when left for long periods.

Turn Off the Device: Shut down your device completely to prevent unnecessary battery drain.

Store in a Cool, Dry Place: Keep your device in an environment free from extreme temperatures and humidity. Avoid places with direct sunlight or moisture.

Avoid Freezing Conditions: Do not store it in a place where the temperature might drop below freezing, as this can damage the battery and other components.

By taking these precautions, you can help ensure that your device remains in good condition while stored. When you take it out of storage, plug it in and let it charge before use to maximize battery life.
