Face ID issue after ios 18.2.1 update

I had update ios 18.2.1 and then Face ID not working. I have tried to reset Face ID and so existing Face ID erased. After this I tried to setup Face ID newly, but am getting ‘FaceID is not available Try setting up Face ID later’

I have the same issue. Rebooting didn't help so I tried resetting Face ID. When I try to set it up again, the front camera is working but the box that says "position your face within the frame" tells me that my face is out of view even though I'm clearly squarely in the box. I did notice that if I put my face halfway off the right side of the screen I briefly get the circle and it tries to detect me, but quickly goes back to telling me that I'm out of view.

I’ll bet they are messing with updates to force people to upgrade to a newer phone. I’ve used the Note App since I first started with Apple products with no issues. Then they added Face ID which worked great till the last update. Since then I’ve had to get my phone replaced because of software issues and things not working like the camera and now Face ID not working as it should. Maybe the next update will fix this and other issues.

I thought my issue about the black screen when opening the camera app and slow face id in some apps had been solved after 18.2.1 update . It turns out that I just recently experience the same issue and the only way to fix it is by restarting my phone. I’m using Iphone pro 16.

I am having the same issue as a result of the update and hope Apple can get on top of this quickly. I was doing work on my phone this morning prior in doing the update with Face I.D working with no issues. Then i had time to do the update and now since i get the same message. Apple Support done a remote diagnostics and advised me to go into the genius bar.
