Can't remove old email address from App Store

iPhone 12. IOS 18.1.1. Updated the email address associated with my Apple ID. But cannot find a way to update the email address associated with the App Store. Essentially now locked out of the App Store. Unable to add new apps or update existing apps. How can I change the email address associated with the App Store (to the email address associated with my Apple ID)?

You will find the Apple ID associated with purchases in the App Store at Settings > [name on top] > Media & Purchases. Note that any apps downloaded with an Apple ID will always be linked to that ID and it cannot be changed by signing into your device with a new Apple ID.

There are a couple of other reasons that you may not be able to use the App Store:

Step 2 here - If you can’t download or update apps on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support
If a message says 'Your Media & Purchases account has been disabled' - Apple Support
