No notification sound in iPhone for Message from a particular contact
I keep missing messages from my daughter because there is no sound as there is on all of my other text messages

Go to the main message screen and find the conversation with your daughter. Is there a small bell with a line through it at the far right? If so, place you finger on the thread and pull to the left. Tap the purple bell icon.
