Messages notifications not working for a specific contact

My husband can receive and hear audio for all of his texts except mine. I even bought a text tone..still doesn’t work on his iPhone. We only have Apple products.

Why do I not receive sound alerts for messages from a specific person on my iPhone? When I receive a message from a certain person in my text, it is preceded by a bell with a slash through it. I do not receive the sound indication that I have a message. Why is this? [Re-Titled by Moderator]
