Delay in locking MacBook Air M2 after Touch ID unlock

Hey dude ...

I Have MacBook Air M2 and now assume that I have locked it by clicking on the touch id button or power button and again I open it with Touch ID, now I can't lock it with the button right after unlocking it, it takes some time like 2-3 seconds or more, then the button works, I wanted to know what kind of delay is this ? and why its causing ? is it normal for any MacBook ?

M2 MacBook Air Touch ID not unlocking from lock screen I don't know when it started, by my M2 MacBook Air will no longer unlock any user account from the lock screen via Touch ID. What's weird is that Touch ID works perfectly fine for every other use. It even works fine on fast user switching. Just not from the lock screen. I know if you haven't used your Mac in a while, it requires the password. That's not what I'm talking about. If I lock the screen, it will immediately require password rather than Touch ID. I've also checked System Settings, and "Use Touch ID to unlock your Mac" is turned on. I've restarted. I'm fully up to date, macOS 26.3. Is anybody else experiencing this? Any ideas on what might help? Thanks!

Mac Touch ID not unlocking, works for autofill For some time now, it has been impossible to unlock the Mac using Touch ID. However, the Touch ID button itself is working properly. It is possible to use Touch ID for password autofill. Here is what has been attempted to resolve the issue: All fingerprints were deleted and then re-added. The Touch ID switch for unlocking the Mac was turned off and then back on after restarting the machine.
