For some time now, it has been impossible to unlock the Mac using Touch ID. However, the Touch ID button itself is working properly. It is possible to use Touch ID for password autofill.

All fingerprints were deleted and then re-added.

If you are using a "standard account"...
There is a bug after 26.3 update
—Log into your admin account and toggle Touch ID off and back on., Now log back into your standard accountant compare your results
It worked. I also deactivate and reactivated the Filevault also ... so I could not say witch one has done the job.
