I want to see what percentage of all the files I have on my MacBook Pro are specific file types, so if all my documents are *MB, how much of this amount is .?filetype
Is there a way to see this info?

I have a Swift application that given a particular folder hierarchy, will print a summary in bytes of each file extension found in that folder location. In my home directory, as an example, there are 1313 distinct file extensions.

Because there is no "Swift app" on the Mac App Store. I wrote custom code in the Swift programming language and compiled it with Apple's optional Swift compiler.
