I recently took an update to my apple watch. It required a new passcode. I was stuck in a loop..... it asked me over and over again to enter a new passcode. So I did a hard reset.... same thing! no matter what 8-digit code I enter, it asks over and over again for me to enter a new passcode. I can't get past this point in the set up, even after a factory re-set!! How can I fix this??

8 digits? Sounds like your watch is controlled by your employer. Contact your IT manager.

Try simple 4 digit when you set it up again
Figured it out... Apple pushed an update so that my phone password requirements were replicated to my watch. After some back and forth w/ Apple and IvantiMobile, they made it work.
That’s not the problem. I’ve used a long passcode for over a year without any trouble. Seems to be the last update. Perhaps it did not fully install? No one at Apple has been able to help yet. Spent over an hour with their senior advisor and they are getting software folks involved.
