Unable to update or download apps due to pending bill

I’m not able to do any updates or download any apps because I owe money to Apple Pay. How do I pay ?

If you see the message that there was a billing problem with a previous purchase:

If a message says 'billing problem with previous purchase' or 'verification required' - Apple Support


To be clear, Apple Pay is not an account, it is just a means to securely transmit payment information. Cards that can use Apple Pay are in the Wallet app and purchases in the App Store are billed to your on payment method on file for your account.
