Authenticator App for Apple Devices

Does Authenticator App provide authentication codes that can be used for any website or app? If so, how do I access those codes on my iMac, my iPhone, my iPad and my Apple watch?

iMac 27″, macOS 15.2

Yes, Apple’s Passwords app can provide TOTP codes just like any number of other software authenticators (e.g. Google, Microsoft, etc.).

See section titled: Set up automatic verification codes

Thank you. Thank you especially for your quick response.

I have come to understand that the "authenticator" applications that I have been trying to utilize are not number generators like Microsoft or Google, but repositories for "identification confirmation" that I create and store there. I already have Dashlane for that purpose. I am a bit thick-sculled and it took me considerable false steps before I finally realized this!
