I use chrome browsers for several different emails and each time I either open up the Mac or just click on a new browser it takes forever to refresh. My MacBook Air is only a month or so old. My previous MacBook which was 5 years old didn’t do this. I asked in an Apple Store and they told me to close some of the windows but it happens even if I have a couple open plus this was fine with my old mac

If you migrated Chrome from your old machine to the new one, it’s probably the Intel only version. Delete it, then re-download chrome from google.com/chrome
See if that helps. Chrome is a notorious resource hog on Macs, though. You may want to consider moving to Safari.
