iPhone stopped connecting to Wi-Fi

I’m out of the US, and my iPhone was connecting to Wi-Fi without any problems, then a couple of days ago, it stopped connecting. I would join a network, and my phone would show a blue check indicating that I was joined, but the Wi-Fi icon didn’t appear on the top right of the screen and there was no internet. I tried a number of different networks (which my iPad had no problems connecting to), I tried shutting off the phone and restarting it, and I tried a network reset, but nothing worked. Apple online support didn’t respond to my text and I can’t reach them through a phone call. Any ideas?
