Text messages going to work phone instead of personal

I got a new phone on January first because my last iPhone’s motherboard failed. I went to the Apple Store with my friend to try to fix it and ultimately had to buy a new phone. In the 10 hours between when my phone died and when I got a new phone, I was texting him from my work phone. My work phone uses a different phone number and different Apple ID and I have never logged in with my personal one on my work phone. Since I got the new phone, my personal text messages ONLY with my friend that came with me to the Apple Store and sometimes getting sent to my work phone. On his phone, my work phone number and my personal appear in a group chat, but only one of my phones will actually receive the text. He does not have the numbers saved under the same contact and has even tried deleting my work phone number contact to no avail. I have tried restarting both phones and his phone, signing out of Apple, he tried blocking my work phone, and it still is putting both my numbers into a group chat. Both phones are serviced by AT&T, however, they are two different accounts. How do I make this stop?
