Overnight charging issue with iPhone 16 Pro Max

this morning my new 16 pro max would not turn on after being turned on and on charge all night. I thought I was being an idiot & my husband had to do the hard reset.

he said I shouldn’t charge overnight but having read all of these posts clearly there is a problem.

My iPhone 14 Pro Max will not charge. Every night I will plug my iPhone 14 Pro Max in and fall asleep listening to a podcast. In the middle of the night last night my phone stopped charging and now will not take a charge. I have tried switching the cords, outlet, and the block that I'm plugging the cord in. I know for a fact these outlets are working because I have a few other appliances plugged into different ones throughout the room. I got it to charge for a split second but it wouldn't stick. I'm assuming there's something wrong with the actual port on the phone itself. I just don't know how that could have happened, so just wondering if anyone else has had this issue. If so, how did you go about fixing it?

So I took my 1 week old phone back to apple and was given a replacement handset. It was acknowledged there is a software issue with the new phone not turning - on. it’s not a charging issue.
