Photoshop 25 installer not "reacting" on sequoia

I am trying install Photoshop on sequoia, I download the installed dmg form Adobe and open it on my mac, I follow instructions and when I am prompted to "double the folder to install Adobe Creative Cloud and I Photoshop" –and I do so– nothing happens... What else could I do? Any ideas?

You're part way there. The only app that can be downloaded as a .dmg from Adobe is the Creative Cloud app.

Once you install that, then you can choose to install Photoshop. Like all other titles directly from Adobe, the CC app controls all installs and uninstalls. You cannot get individual app .dmg downloads.

I did as much checking on that as I could, too. The CC app has no option to download storable .dmg images of their apps. Logging into my account on Adobe's site results in the same thing. The one and only item with a download button is the Creative Cloud controller app. All others say Open on Desktop if already on your Mac, Install if it's part of your current CC plan but not currently installed, or Free Trial / Buy if not part of your current subscription fee.

1 - right/control click and press open (image 1)

Double clicking is the typical method, but that also works.

2 - also "show package contents" and looked for the instal.exe

You're way overthinking this. For starters, you will never find a Windows .exe app in a Mac DMG image.

3 - the third image is what I get.

That's because you're bypassing how the install is supposed to work. As dialabrain noted, there's no reason at all for you to open the installer package. The only thing you need is the icon right in front.

All you need to do is double click the Photoshop Installer icon, then the Open button.

After many failed attempts I re-read your suggestions and meditated what could be happening. I realised that there were old folders of adobe in my computer, as I had migrated everything from my previous computer. I tried to uninstall, unsussesfully (it requested to install Rosetta to uninstall).

After being frozen for a few days, not knowing how to proceed I took the "wild card" of simply DELETING ALL ADOBE folders in my computer.

Then after emptying the bin and re-starting the computer I proceed from zero, following your insights:

  1. Installing Creative Cloud

In doing so I got some error messages, that I just ignored.

Creative Cloud installed and reported and installation error, it suggested me if I wanted to "repair it" and I said YES.

It itself re-installed Creative Cloud using a different installer process and after a while - it appeared as if nothing was happening - Creative Cloud opened. YEAH!!!!

I just now ended a chat with an Adobe rep to see if it's possible to get a dmg download.

They gave me one link to what I already knew - getting a .dmg of the Creative Cloud controller app. And that rep did give me a direct link for Photoshop .dmg, but only because that app is already part of my paid subscription.

The content of that .dmg does not look anything like what OP shows. This is how it opens:

I wouldn't trust the installer the OP has at all.
