I am trying install Photoshop on sequoia, I download the installed dmg form Adobe and open it on my mac, I follow instructions and when I am prompted to "double the folder to install Adobe Creative Cloud and I Photoshop" –and I do so– nothing happens... What else could I do? Any ideas?

You're part way there. The only app that can be downloaded as a .dmg from Adobe is the Creative Cloud app.
Once you install that, then you can choose to install Photoshop. Like all other titles directly from Adobe, the CC app controls all installs and uninstalls. You cannot get individual app .dmg downloads.
I did as much checking on that as I could, too. The CC app has no option to download storable .dmg images of their apps. Logging into my account on Adobe's site results in the same thing. The one and only item with a download button is the Creative Cloud controller app. All others say Open on Desktop if already on your Mac, Install if it's part of your current CC plan but not currently installed, or Free Trial / Buy if not part of your current subscription fee.
There's no reason to be looking at the package contents.
Maybe you just need to unmount the dmg, delete it, then follow the video I posted?
I downloaded it from adobe.com profile. Should be ligit.
Could you please explain the steps you took? I looked in both the CC app and within my account on Adobe's site. I could find no way to download a dmg, other than the CC app itself.
I don't blame you. Though Adobe is very good about not trapping you into a subscription you don't want.
I had downloaded Illustrator (after first having to agree to pay for it after 30 days) because I wanted to find an option in it I couldn't recall existed. The idea was to compare it to Affinity Designer 2. Yup, Illustrator has a function to search for a specific font in a document and change it to any other font, point size or whatever you want. Fast and easy. AD2 can sort of do it, but requires a very complex and convoluted series of paragraph styles.
Had Illustrator installed for two days, then went to the provided link to cancel it.
Then I would say you have a legitimate installer.
Still, very, very odd I don't get the same options, and never have. Partial of a long list of items I have access to:
If I were to uninstall Photoshop, the button would say Install again, not Download.

You are right the installation then starts up, but it also stops on my end:
I have serached on teh internet and it says this:
"When you launch a Creative Cloud application, a configuration error (Error 1, Error 15, or Error 16) is displayed, which prompts you to uninstall and then reinstall the product. The error occurs when permissions to application folders (Adobe PCD and SLStore) are set incorrectly."
Any idea what this is pointing toward?

Ours is currently 500 Mbs through Xfinity. Previously (a few years back now), it was a whole 24 Mbs through CenturyLink's DSL service. You could feel you hair grow as you waited for something that big to finish downloading.
Oh, cripes, yes! Our very first device was a dial-up modem that you had to partially manually control. You called a bulletin board with your regular phone, waited for the connection noise from the host modem, then flipped a switch on our modem so it could take over the line.
And it had a - whoo-hoo! - speed switch on it. You could chose 120 bps, or flip it to the astonishing 300 bps settings. Yowza!

And then hope there were no errors (that old thing didn't have error correction). Then you'd have to start over. But, hey! If you didn't like your relatives, that would be two years worth of busy signals for them. In the meantime, you'd have a second line so you could call out, but never tell them what it was.
I think that's one of those sayings that doesn't hold water.

We'd had many cats over the decades and our last one passed on from old age some years ago. But no more pets for us. We want to be able to travel, go out for a weekend, etc. without having to find a pet sitter. And the house is so much cleaner without cat hair literally everywhere. Sometimes I would swear in sealed containers.
Once Creative Cloud has been installed in my computer I've been able to successfully install Photoshop App selecting it within Creative Cloud App menu and using the "Install" button, as you suggested.
And then "magic" has happened : ) FINALLY I've been able to open Photoshop. Yeah!!!!!
I could never have made it without you. You helped me understand and gave me the courage to try and try and try.

Did you mean double click on the DMG to mount it?
FWIW, Photoshop Elements is available as a DMG as is Adobe Acrobat Reader. But, you make a valid point.
At this step, once the dmg installer doble click opens this window.
