I used to be able to tap the ear in control center on my iPhone to see the decibel level in my environment, without headphones connected. Now that’s gone, and I miss it. It was a great feature for setting the volume of my home audio system. Has the feature been removed? Or am I missing the way to reenable it?

I don't recall being able to check the ambient sound levels before, but I found this from 9to5 Mac, which suggests you can using headphones. Perhaps this is what you recall?

No need to apologize at all. As 9to5 Mac suggests, you can still get the ambient sound decibel levels, but you need to get that through your headphones.
Thank you SravanKrA. I have the ear in control center, but it no longer shows the background noise level. When I’m not wearing headphones, The widget shows Speaker, Background Sounds, and a grayed out Live Listen, but no decibel meter.
the Speaker option doesn’t respond to a tap, and the Background sounds option brings up a menu of various types of white noise.
Thank you lobsterghost1; you may be right, and my memory is going :-). Maybe I'm used to seeing headphone levels in control center, and ambient levels on the watch. It would be a nice feature to add to control center.
