Can't turn off VoiceOver in iPhone 6 SE with black screen

Iphone .6SE Voiceover cannot tur off. Screen is black so cant see anything. Am not able to unlock the phone and tun off Voiceover . Have tried turning the phone off and back n again. The screen did not light up when i turned it back on

Am no expert in this area, yet your post to the community deserves some response.

We do not know which iOS version is installed on te 6SE in order to help:

First, see if you can unlock the iPhone.

This article below is for iOS 15 although you can choose the correct version at the top for accurate info.

Operate iPhone using VoiceOver gestures - Apple Support

Eg:says: "When VoiceOver is on, you need to use special gestures to unlock iPhone"

  • "On an iPhone with Face ID: Wake iPhone and glance at it, then drag up from the bottom edge of the screen until you feel a vibration or hear two rising tones.


  • On an iPhone with Touch ID: Press the Home button using the finger you registered with Touch ID.

If prompted, enter your passcode."

If needed: "To avoid having your passcode spoken as you enter it,

 enter your passcode silently using handwriting mode or type onscreen braille."
