Samsung – 49" Odyssey G9 G95C DQHD 240Hz 1ms(GtG) DisplayHDR 1000 Curved Gaming Monitor

That monitor has a resolution of 5120x1440 pixels, a refresh rate of 240 Hz, and support for 10-bit-per-channel color. It has a DisplayPort input, a HDMI input, and a micro HDMI input.

The USB ports do not seem to support video signals. It appears that they only provide a USB hub – and a fairly pointless one at that. Run one USB cable from the computer to the monitor, get one USB port on the monitor, in return. The monitor's ports might have USB-C connectors, but if they are designed as USB-only ports, then the monitor isn't going to be paying any attention to the DisplayPort Alt Mode signal that the Mac is willing to offer.

Two ways to hook up the monitor might be:

  • USB-C (DisplayPort) to DIsplayPort adapter or adapter cable (from the Mac to the monitor)
  • HDMI to HDMI cable (from a dock or hub to the monitor)

Note that your Mac probably will not support running this monitor at a 240 Hz refresh rate. The monitor's manual seems to indicate that the monitor can run at a refresh rate of 120 Hz or of 60 Hz.
