Recently created files not visible for attachment on Mac

This only happens with the most recently created file. When I open Finder, I can see the file. However, if I attempt to attach the file using the attach option to an email, support chat, upload to instagram, etc, the file isn't visible in the new finder window the attach feature opened.

the most recently created file isn't there in the finder window opened when I select the "attach file" feature.

I can see the file if I just open finder, and sometimes dragging the file from finder is an option, but not always.

However, this only appears to impact the most recently created file - only that file is unavailable to attach.

I would change your work flow—

or change where you are accessing the file from...and compare your results.

Put the "most recently created file" on your Desktop and try attaching it from there and compare your results.

You can not upload to instagram on a browser— you need to use the mobile.app(?)

Try dragging your image to the Desktop and try attaching it from there...

Instagram is just one example. Any situation where attaching or uploading a recently created file is necessary, whether it's attaching to an email or attaching a file to a support chat, the most recently created file isn't there in the finder window opened when I select the "attach file" feature. I can see the file if I just open finder, and sometimes dragging the file from finder is an option, but not always. However, this only appears to impact the most recently created file - only that file is unavailable to attach.

Appreciate the reply - It doesnt matter where I save the file; desktop, finder, most recent, etc - whatever the most recently created file(s) happen to be, they aren't available when I use the attach feature. If I reboot my computer, the most recently created file is available, but if I were to have another file after the re-boot, it isn't available. If I save the file to an external drive or card, I can see the recently save files there and attach, but not if they are saved on my hard drive
