iPhone 14 Pro issues after iOS 18.2.1

So I’ve updated my iPhone 14 Pro to the recently released iOS 18.2.1, and experiencing the following issues:

  • the back of the phone becomes extremely hot, tends to shut down the phone at times.
  • suddbely I have only 2 Gb left on iPhone storage and kept getting storage full warnings (iCloud enabled and never had this issue in the past + didn’t check the storage utilization before the update)
  • Air Pods Pro 2 not recognized (had to re-pair)
  • Apple watch Ultra 1 lost connection to the phone and unable to connect (in settings iPhone is connected to the watch via Bluetooth: however, neither watch nor using the Watch app on the iPhone does it recognize that they are paired) - can’t even unpair using the Watch App
  • noticed the permissions on some apps are not working properly, examples include what’s app not able to access contacts and there is no option to enable access to contacts in the privacy settings. Canva not able to access the photos and I can’t seem to be able to grant it access through settings as well since the option is not available when opening the app settings in privacy section.

anyone experiencing the same problem issues?

It's not always the iOS update's fault!  Many things can cause phone problems.  If you tell people you think it's an iOS update, it might make it harder to fix or find a solution for the real issue.

Remember, the right question often leads to the solution!

iOS updates aim to enhance user experience, boost security, and fix bugs rather than disrupt core features. The majority of the issues after updates might stem from underlying, unmentioned factors. Updates won't typically alter personal data but may refine settings or features. Backup before major updates for safety. Review Apple's update details and backup advice for a smooth process.

Kindly consider checking your settings and addressing any device issues before attributing the issue to external factors. This could be a pure coincidence that the iOS update affected the iPhone functions.

Before initiating a standard iOS update, it's advisable to create a backup. Have you completed this step? If yes, proceed with the restoration from the backup.

See what each update does: About iOS 18 Updates, About iOS 17 Updates, About iOS 16 Updates, About iOS 15 Updates, About iOS 14 Updates, About iOS 13 Updates, About iOS 12 Updates, and so on...

Thank you for the reply.

it can be attributed to other factors, honestly I looked everywhere before posting here since I understand some issues can arise from an update. However since the very first iPhone since 2007 I haven’t had these issues.

Not sure what caused them, but it coincidently happened after I updated last. I have since restored the backup, reset my Apple Watch through the watch not through the app on the phone and it seemed to resolve itself.

As for the storage, it went from 255 of 256 occupied to 190 without me doing anything except for the recovery from the latest backup.

Thank you again for taking the time to respond.

Apple Inc. has gone Hollywood and jumped the shark! I’m having the same issues as I posted before and I’m still using a iPhone 12 Max Pro, it’s over heated so bad to the point I’m unable to take pictures, I have to put on a cool flat surface or if driving I have to keep in in front of the ac blower! Can’t send pictures in mail or it crashes!
