Is JMicron a secure company?
I’ve installed software on my iMac (Big Sur) from JMicron for a solid state SSD. Is it a secure company?

JMicron makes USB and SATA bridge controllers, which would be just one component of an SSD, so it depends on what sort of "security" you're thinking of. What software did you install - just connecting and using an SSD would not normally require any software to be installed - and what is your concern?

I would suggest you take up the issue of security with the company that actually sells the biometric device. JMicron, from everything I can determine, makes only one or two components of such a device, so there will be much more to the security of the device than any circuit and driver JMicron might have supplied.
Regards.
A fingerprint usb with encription, and this requirente the installation of a software, not available on App Store.
