M4 IPad Pro 11 inch / Apple Smart Keyboard Folio

Does anyone know if the new M4 IPad Pro will work with the Apple Smart Keyboard Folio? I know the Apple website says it will not, but it also says that about the new M2 IPad Air and many folks have posted that it does work. I know the M4 is very slightly bigger but if the camera hole, magnets, and pins line up, I can’t see why not. I don’t like the new Magic Keyboard….too bulky and will not fold back on itself. Just hoping someone here has tried. Thank you!

The magnet layout reportedly differs between the M4 and earlier models. As such, the Apple Smart Folio Keyboard is unsuitable for use with the 2024 models of iPad Pro and iPad Air.

You would be well advised to believe Apple's published compatibility information.

You're very welcome.

While the Apple Folio keyboard isn't suitable for your iPad, have you considered a third-party alternative - such as the Logitech Combo Touch Keyboard Case with Trackpad for iPad Pro 11-inch (4th generation) available from Apple?

While the keyboard is not designed to fold-back, the keyboard itself simply detaches from the iPad when not required.

Thank you so much. I have looked at a few other brands of keyboards, but nothing offers what I like about the smart keyboard folio. Minimalist design,does not require power,does not rely on a Bluetooth connection, and folds back into a tablet easily. Thanks again for your help!

the Smart Keyboard does work with the m2 iPad Air. I’m not sure about the iPad Pro m4
