Some things to try:

  1. Remove you case and test
  2. Move to an area outside away from all sources of magnetic fiends to ensure that there are no sources of interference
  3. Settings > Apps > Compass > Location > While Using
  4. Settings > Apps > Compass > Use True North > DISABLED
  5. Settings > Apps > Compass > Cellular Data > ENABLED
  6. Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > Compass > Precise Location > ENABLED
  7. Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > System Services > Compass Calibration > ENABLED
  8. Reboot the iPhone
  9. Test

Update your iPhone:

What is your iOS version? Keep it up-to-date, 18.2.1 is the latest to install, as of this post. Go to: Settings > General > About > iOS Version

A. Update the iOS Using a Computer:

Plug you iPhone into a computer > Force restart the iPhone > and then complete the update using the computer. Use my User Tip:  Update your iPhone Using a Computer - User Tip

B. IMPORTANT: If you have an option to update, however, then be certain you backup your iPhone first. That way, you will have something to restore your iPhone from should anything go wrong with the update
