get apple pay refund when merchant wont communicate

I purchased products from Vital Boost using apple pay. When I received the order I checked the items and discovered the items were not what I had ordered. I had ordered 3 x Vitamin D3 K2 Supplement Softgels and the quantity in each packet was advertised as containing 300 softgels but the packets I received only contained 180.

I checked the website to confirm I had correctly identified the quantity I was purchasing and the website still showed "300 softgels" on the front and back of the packaging. I took screenshots before contacting the supplier who told me they no longer sold them in packs of 300 and after refusing to send more product or provide a partial refund told me to return to the website and follow the steps under the returns policy to return the product for a refund.

After sending multiple emails to the returns team and not receiving a reply I went back to the "customer support" team who again tried to tell me I had only ordered 180 softgel packs because they didn't sell the 300's anymore to which I pointed out again their website still showed the packet with "300 softgels" on the front but they have now stopped replying and have changed the image of the front of the packet. There is still an image showing "300 softgels" but I havent pointed that one out to them.

No. Apple is not directly involved in ApplePay transaction processing or purchase fulfillment; that is generally the purview of your payment card’s issuer.

Q: What payment method was used within ApplePay ? (e.g. AppleCash, Credit card, Debit card, … )

If it was AppleCash — Issued by Green Dot Bank — there is no purchase protection whatsoever. It’s quite literally “just like cash.” Your only recourse is to convince the seller to provide you a refund.

If another payment method was used, you may have some purchase protection; contact the issuer for details.
