How do I stop Mail from suggesting text in my replies?

When I start to reply to an email, I hit Reply, and as soon as I start to type, I get these annoying, stupid "suggested responses".

These are as useless as they are annoying to me, but nothing I do seems to turn them off.

In System Setting/Apple Intelligence and Siri I have turned off "Show Siri Suggestions" in Mail.

In System settings/Keyboard I have turned off Show Inline Predictive Text.

Is there anything else I can do to stop this nonsense?

you can't selectively turn off writing tools on the Mac. You have to turn off Apple Intelligence fully.

System Settings > Apple Intelligence & Siri > and toggle the Apple Intelligence switch at the top.

hopefully apply allows us to selectively turn off components of AI in the future.

Thanks for the fix! I can't stand the AI b-u-l-l-*******. Absurd to have it force-fed and then have to figure out how to shut it off.

Pretty pathetic if a person can't compose their own responses to email.
