European keyboard layout on UK MacBook Pro

my new Mac book pro has a different keyboard layout to a uk layout . It looks like European . I am having a problem with typing backslash . /

my keyboard has the backslash on key 7. I press shift and the 7 key becomes an @ not a/

/ is slash, not backslash ( \ ). No English keyboard has that printed on the 7 key. Your machine must be Danish, Swedish, German, Italian, or something else. Post a photo and we can tell you which, and then we can tell you which input source will match it. Or you can use
