My iPhone got Locked to Owner after hardware repair

You have 2 issues going on there:

• Was the repair done by an unauthorized service provider that may have attempted to use non-genuine parts and what did they say about it?
• You may still be able to remove the Activation Lock by submitting the original purchase receipt from Apple or Authorized Apple Seller to prove ownership.

Here’s what I suspect. The activation lock Apple has on all newer iPhones was bypassed by the store. When parts were replaced, the activation lock became active again. Take to the place of purchase and maybe they’ll assist. Apple will assist with your issue.

Read the link Servant of Cats posted. You are not the original owner, thus you won't have the original purchase receipt, which shows the serial number of the phone. Apple will be very unlikely willing to unlock the phone for you. We cannot help you unlock the phone.

I would contact the store you bought the phone from as they sold you a phone which was not prepared correctly for a new owner.

Be prepared to purchase a new phone at this point.

Did you purchase the device brand new? Do you have the receipt for your purchase? If so, who did you purchase it from?

You can’t unlock it. There is no way to bypass the activation lock. Only the owner of the account used to lock it can remove the activation lock.

It’s a brick. Recycle it.
