macOS Monterey: slow start

Hello,

I updated my Intel Mac Pro to macOS Monterey.

Now it takes 5 minutes from black screen up to the Apple symbol when starting this Mac. On the old OS is was seconds.

How can this be made as fast as it was before ?

Thanks,

Hubert

Mac Pro, macOS 12.7

Run the third party app EtreCheck and post the complete report here so we can examine it for clues.

How to use the Add Text Feature When Posting an EtreCheck Report - Apple Community

The two most common causes of problems are hardware issues, or issues with third party software that has been installed. And the third reason is what @gsyrba is hinting at..... some people try to force a later incompatible version of macOS onto their system.
