I have a privacy screen in and 9/10 when I turn on my phone it is super dim even though my brightness is max. I turned off auto brightness and yet it still adjusts on its own. If there is light in my room I can’t even read my screen due to it being so dark and then after a few minutes it finally adjusts to the brightness I have set.

The obvious solution would be to remove the privacy screen cover. It is interfering with the sensors in the display.

Settings > display and brightness > appearance off, True Tone off, raise to wake off
What iPhone and iOS version and exactly where did you turn off auto brightness?
I don’t get it though, I turned off auto brightness so why is it still trying to adjust?
