Why can't I update my 3rd gen AppleTV to TVOS17? My AppleTV (model A1469) says its "Apple TV software" in settings is running 7.9 (8163). Whenever I select update software it just says it's already updated to the latest software. Is there any way I can get this to update to TV OS 17 so that I can use it as an end node? Or is the model too old? Thank you!

Upgrading Apple TV Model A1625 from tvOS 16.1 to 18.5. I have a Model A1625 currently running tvOS 16.1. I noticed that even though I have automatic upgrades set to On, when I checked the manual upgrade it said version 18.5 was available. I activated the upgrade but it failed after downloading the software in step 1 of 2 of the initialization. Can the hardware support tvOS 18.5? If yes, what might be the reason the software will not install?

If you're referring to the original Apple TVs, not past 3.0.2.

If you're referring to the first generation 4K ones, they can run 18.2 and likely future versions.
