How can I disable Touch ID for Safari on my iPad?

I have no idea how this started but as of today my iPad requires me to use Touch ID EVERY TIME I want to use Safari. I have spent time trying to alter the Touch ID settings but nothing seems to remedy the problem. In fact when I go into settings - apps - safari there does not seem to be anything that links to Touch ID. Any help to disable this would be most appreciated. Thank you.

Hi. Thanks for your assistance. I checked and I don’t have private browsing enabled. However, bizarrely Ive just resolved the issue as I stumbled across the fact that if you hold the safari icon it then gives you the option of whether you want to turn on or off Touch ID. So problem solved. happy days!
