Overwhelmed with threatening texts of being hacked, malware, my files being stolen

Im getting a rash of text messages on my iPhone threatening that I have malware, account breached, files being stolen. How do I stop this? Do I need to go into the Apple Store Genius Bar?

You ignore and delete them. They are all lies. They have nothing.

If your accounts were actually breached, even the dumbest crooks wouldn't tell you that. They'd clean out your bank accounts as fast as possible before you noticed the intrusion.

And the sad reality is that short of changing your phone number, there's really no way to stop these scams once your phone number gets onto the "dark web" spam/scam lists. You can block and report the messages, but these crooks use a myriad of phone numbers, usually fake, so trying to block the numbers is like playing "Wack-a-mole".

An unfortunate side-effect of today's digital world.
