Active calorie burn discrepancy between Apple Watch Series 5 and Series 10

I switched from a Series 5 to a Series 10 on 1/11/2025. I work out with both my AppleWatch and my gym's heart rate monitor. Prior to switching to the Series 10, my calorie burn for both my Series 5 and my gym's HR monitor were within 20 calories of one another. I plotted out the data points and, since switching to the Series 10, my watch is indicating as much as a hundred fewer calories than my gym's HR monitor, which still shows a similar calorie burn to my historical stats. Any assistance is appreciated!

Thank you for the reply! I checked the recommended data and they’re all up to date. As far as calibrating my watch, since I’ve gotten it it’s been very icy outside so my pace is significantly slower than it normally is. I’ll recalibrate when it’s safe to walk at my normal pace outside. A question…does the watch use the walking data as a baseline to estimate calories burned for other workouts such as a HIIT, running, yoga, etc.? Thank you again!
