iCloud storage discrepancy after purchasing additional space

I had the free 5GB of iCloud storage and that filled up

so I bought the additional 50GB of storage and it than said I only used 5.1GB out of 50GB.

i took a couple of vids and photos and now it says my storage is full and that I have 128GB of storage and I have used 127.7GB

what has happened?

how do I get more storage?

I suspect that you have subscribed to the 50GB iCloud+ plan in the expectation that this will give you extra space on your iPhone.

You seem to have 128GB of space on your iPhone 7 which is now full.

Device storage and iCloud storage are different things. You cannot increase the capacity of your phone by subscribing to an iCloud+ plan.
