I was given an iPhone 12Pro with a broken screen. I want to try it out before I repair it — see how I like a larger phone. Can I simply change out the SIM card from my SE and restore from my Macbook? I'd like to go back and forth between the two for a week. Will I create any problems by going back and forth between the two? They are both 128 gb. Thanks

If you want to try a larger screen to see how you like it, instead of attempting to use a broken iPhone, simply visit an Apple Store and try one there.
I was in the neighborhood of an Apple store this week, dropped in, and had my questions answered by two helpful folks there. Yes, you can "clone" your phone with your latest backup and swap out your SIM, back and forth, to see which you prefer. They did mention if Verizon is your carrier, you may need to let them know.
