Multi-color background on Mac startup, no icons or toolbar

I have tried every command to fix this situation (resetting the NVRAM, the SMC, booting in safe mode, etc.), but I get the same results--a multicolor background without any of the icons or the tool bar on top. The mouse and the keyboard don't appear to be connected. It just hangs up. I have also tried replacing the SSD, but I can't even get the background to show up. I cannot run in safe mode, nor can I get to the Disk Utility screen that allows me to repair the disk. Help!

It would help if you can, at least, provide us with what exact model is your MacBook Pro. All we know, so far, is it is a 13" model, running macOS Ventura 13.7.

Since you have already opened up this Mac, did you replace anything other than the SSD? It may be possible, when doing so, you either left a critical display connector disconnected or potentially damaged something else.

One simple test, for the display, is to temporarily connect your MBP to an external monitor. If you then can see the macOS Desktop on that monitor, it would indicate an issue with your Mac's display. If not, then there could be a more serious logic board problem.
