My watch (series 7) died while being used in a pool. I bought a new watch but I am wondering if I will be able to set up the new watch without having to unpair or follow steps in my old watch first.

Remove your old watch from your find my
On a computer, go to iCloud.com and sign in with your Apple ID.
Go to Find Iphone.
Select All Devices, then click your Apple Watch.
Click Erase Apple Watch.
Select Next until the device is erased.
Click the remove button next to your Apple Watch
