Remove Macbook from Find My

When i look in the Find My app (both my Macbook and iPhone) I see a Macbook that belongs to a previous employer. When I left that employer the Macbook was given to a different employee. I now see that persons name in my Find My as "{name}'s Macbook Pro".

The Macbook Pro is only visible in Find My, if I look on https://account.apple.com/account/manage/section/devices the macbook is not visible there, so it is not signed in to my Apple ID.

If the Macbook is offline, I have an option to remove it in Find My, but as soon as it comes online again it is back in Find My.

How can i permanently remove this Macbook from my Find My? Alternatively, what are the instructions for the person that currently has my old Macbook Pro?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for your reply. As far as I can see the part "Remove Activation Lock on a device you no longer have" is applicable in my situation. However, that requires erasing the device which is not what i want to do, because the device is currently in active use.

Is there a way to remove the Activation Lock without erasing a device?
