Apple music on Windows requires an mac/iPhone to login

I wanted to login on apple music on my Windows 11 laptop to get access to the songs I bought.

But I can't. It requires an iPhone/Mac, which SHOULD NOT happen.

I already have a trusted device, which is my phone number.

So it SHOULD send me a text message.

And no, I will not ask to someone for its iPhone or Mac, I want to be able to login easily.

Fix that please, and stop degrading the experience of those who don't want to use your products.

You're showing a dialog box for iCloud for Windows rather than Apple Music. I was able to sign into Apple Music in the Apple Music for Windows app recently, and have a code texted to a phone no. rather than having to use two factor on an iPhone or Mac.

Hi, I tried signing out of Apple Music on that computer, but unfortunately when I signed back in again there was no two-factor prompt. Here's what I see when I try on the web. I'm pretty sure I saw something similar in Music, where clicking Can't get to your devices? brought up the three options below, allowing me to get the code via a text message.

An alternative approach might be to (re)install iTunes and authorize from the Account menu in that.

Try https://account.apple.com/ and check that a text to your phone no. is an option. For the account in question I no longer have an iOS device configured for it, but I did have to go through the account recovery process in order to update the phone number used for it. You might not get the Can't get to your devices? prompt if your account isn't configured to allow a text message to be used as an alternative validation method.

The only source for Apple Music for Windows is the Microsoft Store. I'm not at the machine in question right now but I can try signing out and in again later to see if I can reproduce the sign in dialog. The mix of languages in your screenshot also indicates things are not quite as they should be. I take it you are in France or some other French speaking country.

When I want to connect me on the apple music app, after clicking on sign in, this page appear :

I enter my login details, and then the dialog box asking me for a mac or an iPhone appear.

On the apple website, I have absolutely no problem. Apple sends me a text message.

No, it's really from apple music.

I've downloaded it from the microsoft store.

Then tried to login, but it always shows this dialog box.

Where did you get your app ?
